Author and Atlantic writer McKay Coppins may be the reason Donald Trump is president. At least partly. In 2014 while writing for BuzzFeed, he found himself alone with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Floridian compound. The resulting skeptical profile enraged Trump, and the reality star reportedly reveled in the idea that a presidential run would make Coppins look bad.
We may never know how much the desire to shame Coppins played into Trump’s decision to run for president and become the actual real leader of the free world, but our Editor-in-Chief Joshua Topolsky sure tried to find out on this episode of Tomorrow.
