The West Virginia teachers strike was an incredible display of grassroots activism, with educators coming together to get the compensation they deserve. While the strike in West Virginia ended with a 5 percent raise and a hold on health insurance premiums, teachers in other cities are taking notice.
Outline staff writer Gaby Del Valle spoke with two teachers on the front lines, Laura Picard Carter and Catherine Drummond Pizzino, about what led to the strike and what the future holds.
