This Valentine’s Day, surprise your bog love with a time hug

These neural network-generated candy heart messages are lovably insane.

As those of us who died laughing at the amazing fake Coachella lineup already know, you can get some amazing results when you feed an already strange dataset into a neural network and tell it to do its thing. And, as luck would have it, that’s exactly what happened when Janelle Shane, proprietor of the blog AI Weirdness, taught a neural network to generate the type of messages you see on Valentine’s candy hearts:

“[Candy companies] introduce new candy hearts each year, so, maybe we will see ‘Team Bear’” candy hearts in 2019, she joked in an interview with Bustle.

On her site, Shane highlights even more results, including “OOG LOVE,” “BE A GOOL,” and “TWEET UP BAT.” And, if you want to kill the rest of your afternoon, Shane has also used neural networks to generate Christmas carols, music genres, and new species of birds.

This article has been updated to correct the misspelling of the AI Weirdness blog creator’s name. It is Janelle Shane, not Shae.
