Based on its latest ad for Apple Music, even the world’s richest company seems to be trying to understand the America of Donald Trump’s fever dreams.
The new spot stars country singer Brantley Gilbert, and features shockingly mundane Americana pap-rock like “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Born to be Wild.” Paired with big men on big motorcycles, slow motion tracking shots of barns, and waving, glorious American flags, it’s a regular love letter to the heartland.
There is a Kendrick Lamar track played towards the back half of the commercial, but it’s fittingly cut short by Lynard Skynard’s ode to the South.
