Following shootings in Virginia and San Francisco this week, NBC pulled a scheduled episode of The Carmichael Show with a plotline involving a mass shooting. In an apperarance on Chelsea, the show's creator and star, comedian Jerrod Carmichael, expressed his disagreement with that decision.
“What it says is you don’t think that America is smart enough to handle real dialogue,” Carmichael said. “And something that reflects real family conversations.” The episode, titled "Shoot Up-Able," features Carmichael’s character grappling with the psychological trauma of surviving a mass shooting. NBC has not announced an updated airdate for the episode.
