The confirmation hearing for Trump’s attorney general pick, Jeff Sessions, began this week and faced interruption from day one. During that first meeting, protesters in the room managed to pause the Senate proceedings by chanting some lines you may have heard before: “No Trump! No KKK! No fascist USA!”

Sound familiar? Green Day said those words to an audience of 8.2 million on prime-time broadcast television during the 2016 American Music Awards. But before Billie Joe Armstrong shouted them into your living room, they were spoken back in the 1980s by Dave Dictor, frontman for the punk band MDC, though with a slight variation: “No war! No KKK! No fascist USA!”

Sessions has been accused of racism throughout his career, and though that stopped him from being confirmed a federal district court judge in 1986, it apparently makes no difference in 2017. Watch the video above for a full rundown of the chant’s history, as well as Sessions’ incredible track record.
