Apple is appealing the EU's tax ruling

In August, Apple was ordered to pay €13 billion in back taxes after the company allegedly entered into an illegal tax deal with Ireland.
Ireland has denied any special tax deal and has accused the EU commission of infringing on its sovereignty.
The European Commission released the full text of its complaint today. In it, Apple is given the option to reduce its tax bill by making up for the payments it avoided in the US and other EU countries.
