The US Army Corps of Engineers delayed the Dakota Access Pipeline
The pipeline threatened the water supply of the Sioux Tribe, whose reservation is near the proposed site.
Assistant Army Secretary for Civil Works Jo-Ellen Darcy said there is a need to explore alternate pipeline routes.
The pipeline isn't permanently killed, however, just delayed for the moment.
