Jack McCauley, the inventor of the scrolling mouse wheel, says the original idea for the gadget was hijacked.
He designed the mouse wheel to allow users to navigate a web page in a three-dimensional way.
“You can go X and Y with the cursor, but I wanted to go into it.”
