This brick was offered for a brief time today from the brand Supreme.
The brick was for sale for $30. It has now sold out. Supreme has not said how many were offered for sale.
A pair of Supreme resellers have claimed credit for the idea. The two started a grassroots campaign for a brick via the brand's requests form back in March, Complex reported.
The Outline consulted fabrication sources to find out what sort of effort would be required to rip off this idiot product and make a quick buck on eBay. "If you had all the tools it would take you a day and like 50 bucks in materials," one source said. "So not difficult or expensive basically."
However, a second source was less optimistic. "Don't forget a kiln and failure rate," he said. "Honestly the thousand dollars for one probably isn't far off." Just running a 5-access CNC machine would be $200 an hour, he said, plus "overhead, real estate, insurance, workmanship comp. And what's the allowed tolerance [accuracy]? It's all how you look at it." So: Supreme brick. Maybe a smart buy!
