Twitter announced its earnings for Q2 Thursday morning and said that it has 328 million users. Problem is, that’s exactly the same number the social media platform reported for total users last quarter, meaning that it added exactly... zero people. None. In the U.S., users declined from last quarter when they stood at 70 million, to 68 million in this one.
Twitter has been beleagured by reports of user problems with the service so much so that it's now perhaps best known as a place for harrassment and off-the-cuff Trump remarks. Revenue, at $574 million for the quarter (and $548 last) is relatively flat.
None of this is good news for Twitter. But maybe it is good news for... people. As a platform increasingly seen as a gathering place for Nazi sympathizers and used as a daily megaphone for political rants, it’s not exactly a welcome place to be.
