The best part of going to a music festival, as everyone knows, is watching someone play video games. At least it’s a possibility now that Lollapalooza has introduced its first ever “Gaming Lounge.” The Chicago music festival running from August 2 to 5 announced it will be hosting celebrity gamer Ninja for a live gaming session, where he will “challenge artists and special guests backstage all weekend long.” Ninja is notable for having the most followers on game streaming platform Twitch, and for once playing a game of Fortnite with Drake. Now, some of the millions of people who watch Ninja game online will get the chance to see him in action live, and the rest of his fans will be able to catch the action on his stream as usual.

Esports competitions and conventions are popular all over the globe. Last year, the Hong Kong Tourism Board even held its own city festival complete with performances from K-Pop stars. Lollapalooza has released little information on what else the Gaming Lounge will offer and has yet to reveal who if anyone else will be a featured gamer at the festival. But if Ninja’s past holds any clues, we may very well see more of music’s biggest names sitting down to nerd out with Ninja under the watchful eyes of thousands of drunk people. It’ll definitely be more fun than watching Logic.
