The dating site for Kanye West fans is live

The most highly-anticipated rap-themed dating website of the year is finally here. Yeezy.dating, a dating site for Kanye West fans, is live, and stans from New York City to Belgium have already created profiles.

In creating a profile, you quickly learn just how Kanye-dedicated the site is. More than being a site for West’s fans, the site distinguishes people by their West and West-adjacent tastes. Instead of revealing your astrological sign, you choose your favorite Kanye West album. Instead of revealing your drinking and drug preferences, the site asks you to rank your top three favorite artists. (Taylor Swift is notably not an option, though West-adjacent artists like Jay-Z, Frank Ocean, and Beyoncé are — as well as, inexplicably, Post Malone.) Your answers to those questions are displayed beneath your profile picture and name, and become part of the compatibility criteria by which users will decide to “heart” you or not — hearts being the means of showing interest in someone and having the opportunity to message with them if they heart you back.

As novel of a compatibility system as this is, Yeezy.dating does have its oversights. As it stands now, you can only choose to search for either men or women, not both. Plus, there is currently no capability to browse users by location. Not to mention, either by virtue of its being in the early stages or its theme, there are far more men currently on the site than women. But if Kanye lovers flock to the site as they did in the early days of Kanyetothe, then the site will be a success. If, that is, that man it is dedicated to doesn’t decide to sue.
