Relive the momentary joy of the eclipse

For one hour in 2017, everything seemed fine.

On August 21, a total solar eclipse was visible from parts of the Earth. Humans were warned for many days in advance not to look directly at the solar eclipse, but most planned to catch a glimpse somehow. They gathered in the streets. The Outline filmed eclipse watchers in neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Manhattan during the mid-afternoon when the moon crossed the sun.
